Alison Brown is schools' adviser for Derby Diocese; before this she taught for 11 years in primary schools in the Derbyshire area.
She works with teachers, headteachers, governors and clergy to develop and enhance the teaching of Religious Education, the delivery of Collective Worship and Spiritual Development in the primary school.
Alongside this work she has been involved in the revision of both Derby City and Derbyshire Locally Agreed Syllabuses; in tutoring on the Stapleford centre's postgraduate diploma in RE; a writer of various RE resources, most recently 'Someone like Sam', a resource for both churches and schools to help children explore 'big questions' in life; an editor for the Primary Science Religion Project; has been a regular contributor to the RE on the PGCE and B’Ed courses at Derby University; and in wider involvement in the RE world.
